Hawberry (Haws) Wine

Post by GrafVonJon » Wed Sep 02, 2009 12:25 pm

Anyone had any experience of this?

On my hunts/forages for blackberries and elderberries I've noticed loads of these kicking about. There's a recipe in CJJ Berry, but I was wondering if anyone could actually vouch for it before I use up a demijohn on it...

I will get back to brewing beer, but all these autumn fruits around at the moment are too much to ignore!

My thoughts exactly, I've been mashing haws every evening for the last week  - should go into the demijohn tomorrow.

Apparently it benefits from being left to age, so give me a year or so and I should know if it's worthwhile!
