TC - from concentrate or not...
Re: TC - from concentrate or not...
Hi,
Its better to use not from concentrate juice when making TC...
HOWEVER it all depends on what you want to make ( how important is taste) and the budget you are on.... Or if this is your first experiment in TC making....
If you want to make some 9% stuff which will make you forget where you live then I guess what sort of juice you use is less important.
The Main thing to remember with the juice is that its 100% juice and not 'juice drink' with all sorts of other sh*t in there,... like artifical sweetners etc...
Most true 'TC' (ie Turbo cider) is meant to be drunk young (as soon as its bottled and fizzy) served cool/cold...
If you want to make a more 'refined cider' then I guess it does matter more what juice you buy- and you get what you pay for....
Most people look around for 3 for 2 offers (buying 6 in total) in their local supermarket grab a kilo of sugar and mix it up and add to a DJ with some wine yeast....
Do a search on the forum for TC recipes and methods....
Good luck!

I have made it from both and not noticed any difference...................it didn't get a chance to mature. As stated avoid juice drink.

Re: TC - from concentrate or not...
All I can say is that my barrel of Lidl AJ from concentrate took a while to mature but now that it's a few months old in the barrel it is a very damn fine cider and goes superbly with a few fashionable ice cubes.
Dead simple recipe,
loads of lidls AJ
couple of bramleys
youngs cider yeast
bit of sugar to make up the ABV,
Not strictly a TC but still it's turned into a bootiful bevvy.
