Hedgerow Wine Time!!!

Post by Reg » Thu Sep 01, 2005 10:13 pm

Now is the time guys, I'm seeing elderberries and blackberries everywhere right now and the juice needs little more than a wine yeast and a Demijohn to turn into very palatable wine...!!! :D

Well blackberries grow pretty much anywhere including waste ground in most cities... I on the other hand have only to walk 200 yards from my house to be out in open fields... :P B)

Well that may be true, but I made some rosehip wine a few years ago and included some that had been growing near a busy road. The whole batch tasted of exhaust fumes!

I had to throw it out! :(

Actually, since we moved a couple of years ago, we're further into the country (but still pretty suburban). Someone from London or Birmingham would probably think we were out in the sticks, though!

I grew up right in the middle of the country, in County Durham, so I know what I'm missing.
