What is the best wine making book?
What is the best wine making book?
I'm looking for a book on making wines from fruit. Any recommendations?
Re: What is the best wine making book?
I bought this book a few months ago.....
http://www.amazon.co.uk/First-Steps-Win ... 1854861395
Already made a few fruit wines, just waiting for them to mature now. Its a good book with loads of information along with heaps of wine, spirit & fruit recipes.
Well worth the price to!

I'll second that book. Not heavy on the theory, but good grounding in the basics and loads of recipes.
An alternative would be:
http://winemaking.jackkeller.net/index.asp
or, for just the recipes:
http://winemaking.jackkeller.net/recipes.asp
This is a very useful web resource, and has loads of nfo if you delve deep enough beyond the recipes.
Hope this helps

If you go here you can effectively get that book for nothing.

I don't think they are ripping anyone off here. From what I gather the owner of the forum knew the author so it's all above board.
There is loads of really good stuff on that forum too, there are some real fool proof recipes.
I put a Ribena one on a couple of weeks back and had a taste the other day. Gorgeous. Recipe is on here too somewhere. You should also consider Lychee Wine. Also read the tutorial on degassing - my wines are crystal clear now...!
Jack Keller has a good reputation too.
