here is our second apple pressing ,session a month after the 1st ..... :D

i adapted the press by removing the front,and using different sized plates,
we now have 10 gallons of cider brewing... 8)
and it cost nothing as we had all the odds and sods to make it work.... 8)

half of the apples we pressed..

juice flowing, thru improved press.... :party:

5 gallons of sugary apple juice, hydro reading of 1050

after 24 hrs juice was dropped into another f/v to aid airation

yeast starter made 24 hrs earlier,

nice and foamy.... =D>

pop it in corner, to ferment at room temp with its coat on... :=P

Nice job there mate, I have loads of apples to press this year I hope it goes as well as your day, 5 gallons out of that many apples is a great result. By looking at the photo of half of your apples I have a least twice a many, I hope I get 10 gallons [-o<

Thats looking good!

Takes me right back actually, an apple wine was amongst the first non-kit brews I ever made. I always enjoyed finding free ingredients from the garden and hedgerows and turning them into one type of drink or another - really satisfying. Now look where I've ended up :-)
