Not in this case the classic song by Doctor Feelgood, but and upate to our 8-[ bleuurrrghh 8-[ section from the old FFF forum.

A couple of this ago a I poseted this link:-

http://jimsbeerkit.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=435

...about the Israeli milk based alcoholic beverage called Xtramood, quoted in 2002 as "the first alcoholic milk beverage in the world, produced by a dairy".

Well, according to an article in this morning's Metro, the Japanese drinks giant Abashiri have produced a milk and hop based drink, called in the irritating way contractions are used as brand names: "Bilk".

The jury is still our as to whether anyone will spend £1.60 for a bottle remains to be seen. However, I was wondering whether Abashiri know that, with a launch date in 2002, they were preceded by the Israeli's by 5 years! ;)

One of my 'favourite' drinks when I am ill is 'Magic Milk' (Dubbed that by SWMBO and the name has stuck).

A mug of milk (just under - need some space for extra)
Heat in microwave for 2 minutes (well you can heat any way you want I just find the ideal)
Once heated, add sugar (I normally put 2 teaspoons)
Add a shot or 2 of whiskey
Stir and enjoy.

This is a perfect Milk Brew for when you are ill. Drink in place of a horlicks just before bed.

Well since we are working our way onto milk based cocktails and drinks. I find there is little to beat a good Irish coffee.

Taht means WhisKEY as in the nice peaty Irish stuff. Brown sugar to heklp the cream float and no disgusting, canned whipped cream, but proper cream floated on top of the hot coffee.

Yum ;)

Good drink, I remember them served in those nice shaped glasses. I just fancied one a while back after a meal but was told they don't serve them due to H & S.... you can burn your lips on the hot glass

Yeah. IT was one of those drinks where the beverage was returnable as well as the bottles.

Often at high speed.
