TC with whole cloves

Post by oxford brewer » Sat Feb 17, 2007 6:44 pm

A few weeks ago i deciced to experiment with TC's.With this one i put a handful of whole cloves in the demi-john.
It was made with 4 litres of AJ and 340g of clear honey.
Also at the same time i started another with the AJ and honey again but with a heaped teaspoon each of ground ginger and ground cinnamon.
Due to bottle both in the morning, but in the meantime here is a pic of the TC with the cloves!

The TC with cloves has a real warming feeling to it(would be good to use in a mulled cider :=P )and goes down easy, next time i will use far less cloves(about 15-20 in a 5litre batch next time),as for the TC with cinnamon and ginger it was.....different  ,it failed to clear but that was due to the ground cinnamon and ground ginger. It had an ok taste but in future i would try it with cinnamon sticks and root ginger(roughly grated).

The next ones to try will be garlic in one and some bullet chillies that my friend is growing

They must be good if you posted it twice  I get beer goggles every so often. Usually near the 11.00 pm mark or later. You sometimes see some of my post with CAPS Lock left on and some severe gramtical errorfication. :D

I think I will definetly try the whole cinnamon and whole ginger version, sounds great for a saturday afternoon BBQ with the local alocholic society
