Strawberry Cider - help needed!

Hi Folks,

OK this is my first attempt at a cider and my lovely lady has requested it to be of the strawberry flavour variety.

Done quite a few beers and lagers in kit form before but never a cider.

Basic plan if you could check this -

Standard cider kit...brew as usual.
In bottom of secondary FV throw in 4/5 Ibs of frozen strawberries (my dad grows strawberries - handy!).
Leave a week or so and bottle.
Drink and enjoy.

im doing two DJ's of strawberry cider atm, no idea how there going to turn out yet, both turbo cider, one with a punnet of strawberrys, lil honey. The other is half a punnet with sugar and tea, been on for four days and looks good so far

tis also my first attempt at strawberry cider, will post results when i have them though

Make your life easy - brew a basic turbo cider and at the time of bottling then add Ribena Strawberry Cordial at a dosage rate of 50ml/litre (1litre /20l brew length)

You'll need to boil the ribena for 20 minutes and cool it first (as it contains preservatives) before adding and consider it as part or all of the priming charge due to its high fructose content (i normally prime ciders @ 4tsp/litre for mega fizz, I reduced the priming sugar by 50%)

Tried my first one tonight (and bare in mind this batch is a mere 5 days in the bottle !) and IMHO it kicks strawberry brothers into the weeds I'll be doing a full 23l batch very soon its that good !
