TC with Grapes?

Post by jmc » Mon Oct 01, 2012 9:17 pm

Grapes from a couple of vines in the garden are just about ready to harvest.
(Birds think so anyway :x )

Pic taken today:

These are eating grapes (rather than specific wine makeing ones), but they are fairly sharp and have a fair bit of tanin and lots of pips.

About 3-4Kg I reckon, so probably too many to eat and not enough for wine, so I thought they might work in a 5 gal batch of TC? Tannin may help and should give some body?

As you can see they have a yeast bloom so should I soak in some sodium met solution overnight to hinder this?

I've not been enormously keen on the TCs I've done that have had grape juice in them.
But your tastebuds are different to mine.
Yes to the sod met
