Re: Potato wine recipe
This is a good post for a potato based brew
I know its not a wine in the typical sence but I think its what they meant by potato wine
as these recipes were taken from The Ex-pats survival guide

I have made this before and it takes a hell of a lot of time to mature but it was all drank after about a year
but i wouldnt make it again, But i know its a place to kick start ur recipe research
Let us all know if you find a recipe to make and good luck

I'm not sure I'd care for potato wine, but it wouldn't be the first time I tasted something that, to my surprise, I liked.
I'm just here for the beer.

Alaskan Bootlegger's Bible:
2lb potatoes, 2.5lb sugar, 1lb raisins, 4 oranges or lemons, 1tsp tea, yeast (NB - for US gallon)
Old pots best but remove eyes, green bits, etc. Peel, pare, grate. Bring to boil, pour water only over sugar&raisins, add rest of ingredients when cool.
That much sugar in a US gallon is going to be quite strong, esp with the raisins as well. I'd chop the raisins, and as the raisins will have tannin I wonder why it wants tea.
Also, as with carrot and parsnip wine, probably better if spuds have been subjected to a frost (or night in the freezer) - gets some of the starch turned to sugar with parsnips

Warning: I've not tried it myself. I've not done many of his recipes straight, but have used them towards my average-out-everything-you-find-on-the-web versions of recipes.

True I've seen sum using raw ones
Re: Potato wine recipe
Raw potatoes are not poisonous. The leaves, stems and and green bits on the skin are poisonous.
