clearing gunk without finings

I flavoured some vodka with rhubbarb.

Very nice it was too.

sieved through a tea towel and then back into the bottle . lots of sediment dropped out of the bottle.

any advice around this ? next one was thinking, sieve, coffee filter. back in the demi john and let clear for month or so hope more drops out and syphon into bottles. anything to speed this along, suggestions.?

You got it right first time, use a coffee filter is perfect. Ive infused packets of skittles in vodka and filtered it through a new j cloth, excellent results. Tea towel is too coarse a weave to strain it propoerly.

Do not use geletine or any other type of finings for that matter.

cheers fellas, will try the coffee filter .

i have always just used a tea towel for my sloe gin, but then the sloes dont seem to disintergrate in the same way the rhubbarb is.
