Folks I have a bumper crop of red grapes this year probably 3 kilo so thought I would have a go at converting them to wine, having read a few books etc I'm getting lost for a simple method to convert them can anyone assist ?

You basically crush then, skins and all and then ferment them. But for "proper" wine you only have enough for about half a gallon so you need to decide whether that is OK or whether you want to boost them by adding sugar. Personally, I'd brew make the half gallon and see how it turned out.

Pick them off the stems and scrunch them by hand (or feet traditionally).
Check the sugar content, ripe would be sort of 19 to 23 brix area (sorry youd have to convert that to gravity as it'd checked with a refractometer normally, before picking).
You can boost quantity with grape concentrate too......
