Turbo cider question

Post by thesaintv12 » Tue Apr 01, 2008 8:32 pm

Hi all,

Decided to make this as it seems to be a world wide favorite now!

I have used wine yeast and after 4 days it seems to have stopped fermenting. Should I rack it off now? How long does it usually take to clear?

Cheers.

Have you got a hydrometer? That's the easiest way to tell if it's stopped fermenting.

If not, I'd be tempted to leave it for a total of ten days in the fermenting vessel then rack off.

Cheers Jonny.

No, I don't have a hydrometer. Just returning to brewing and buying equipment as I go.

I will leave it then. How long does it take to clear (if it does clear)? The juice was clear when started if this helps.

First thing I have made other than beer. Good fun.

TC can ferment out extremely quickly but it's a safe bet to leave it a little longer if in doubt.

The extra wait wont do it any harm but your will power might not be up to it!
