Volcanic TC

Post by haz66 » Mon Dec 01, 2008 10:18 am

My first two TC have been in bottles a few weeks now, decided to try one Saturday and when uncapped it deposited its contents all over my kitchen, i thought it was a rogue bottle so opened another, same result, wife not impressed, thought i`d try batch 2, woh just as bad, wife decided they were to dangerous to keep in the house so she carefully cracked the cap and then waited until they had settled down and then tipped them down the sink :( , i just caught her doing the last bottle and managed to catch a small video of it, when i find my camera usb lead i`ll put it on YouTube and put a link up to it, its like TNT in a bottle :D

Sounds like a fair bit of in-bottle fermenting going on there.

You could always try chilling them in the fridge before opening them.

Yeah even though both had fermented out to 1002 there was a lot of sediment in the bottles, but i never filtered the apple bits out i just bottled the lot, so maybe it was still working on the sugars in the apple, some had been in the fridge but they were still like TNT, maybe not just as bad but certainly not safe in the hands of pi$$ed up adults :D

She thought it best down the sink than exploding all over the house, but i have to say they were dangerous.

That is pretty fizzy
I've never managed to get my TC anyway near that fizzy - in fact I would like to get it a bit fizzier than it is.
How did you do that?

Did you taste any? That was some OTT bottle conditioning going on.
