I have had good results with Dreadskins strong tea and Bramley additions to TC and your tannin and citric acid additions sound like a good idea. There's no Aldi near me but I have a Lidl and usually use their bog standard apple juice for TC. I shall have to go and see if they have anything in the way of pressed apple juice.

I shall have to give cloudy apple juice a try. Does it clear given time? I'm not worried about cloudy cider, just wondered.
