Re: cider with cooking apples???
best to match 50% cookers and 50% eaters. thats the traditional way they do it in Kent. or juice and mix sam for sam shop bought juice

Re: cider with cooking apples???
haha 'northern ireland isnt in britain...' but knowing the answer to this, delivering parcels to ireland and the north does cost alot more, cos it is over seas, like the isle of white jersey etc... as i post a few things of in myline of work, cheers for the info,
Re: cider with cooking apples???
Well why not really "go the whole hog" and get the plants from here ? That's where I got ours from. They do eaters, cookers and cider apple plants - and have a good reputation for providing virus free plants.williams_tom wrote:haha 'northern ireland isnt in britain...' but knowing the answer to this, delivering parcels to ireland and the north does cost alot more, cos it is over seas, like the isle of white jersey etc... as i post a few things of in myline of work, cheers for the info,
Ours worked out about a tenner a tree (including shipping) 2 years ago, we got 2 eaters, 2 cider, 1 eating pear and 1 cider pear. Cookers and eaters are easily available from the local fruit wholesaler, so maybe get some cider apple tree's to add a bit of difference to the end product.....

p.s. and yes, Deacons is also "overseas"....... on the I.O.W.
Re: cider with cooking apples???
Well... it isn't. It's the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland after all.DREADSKIN wrote:and i quote, 'northern ireland isnt in britain...'
