Kenridge Kits & Filtering
Kenridge Kits & Filtering
I am just about ready to bottle my Kenridge Chardonnay and in the instructions it recommends fitering the wine, what are the advantages of filtering and if I don't will it matter? I have never fitered any other wine kits and they have turned out OK
Re: Kenridge Kits & Filtering
So long as the wine has cleared right down, it should be perfectly acceptable - if you haven't had a problem before, then there's no reason why you should have a problem with the Kenridge kit.
However, as well as removing any chance of any sediment forming in the bottle, filtering does give wine that certain 'polish' that commercially made wine has - particularly noticable in white wines. I use a simple Harris filter, and it does make wine crystal clear.
