Turbo Perry
Turbo Perry
Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and have already been swept up in the turbo cider craze. I started some on Friday and I thought I'd have a go at making some turbo perry using pear juice concerntrate. I've just started 4 litres and I'll stick another litre in it tomorrow. Has anyone else tried this?
Wish me luck!

Just tried the perry. The caps on the pet bottles were domed shaped so I thought I'd better release some pressure. Blimey! I've never seen anything so fizzy, it was like putting a tin of Andrew's in half a pint of water. I can't remember how I primed it if at all and I don't think I kept any notes.
It had dropped quite clear but that soon changed when the bubbles went up.
It tasted alright, a bit like weak lemon squash which along with the fizziness made it very refreshing but a bit bland.
I'll give it another few weeks to mature and let you know what happens.
Cheers

I don't know if Perry is the same but with cider the growers often mix different types of bitter/ sweet apples to get the flavour right, pear may be more complicated? If the flavours not too great you could always try adding a bit of pear juice to it before drinking this is what kopparberg do.... being in Sweden have you come across it? very nice.
