A friend of mine here in Thailand is going back to the world soon,so I'm putting together a shopping list.
YEAST,this is a problem. Here in Thailand I need some thing that is OK with quite high temperatures.
Im going to be using it to make wine from juices.
I want it to be affordable(read as cheap)
I saw youngs super wine yeast compound and ritchies general purpose wine yeast, how would they fare?
Any thoughts on this subject would be great.

Dunno about the Youngs stuff, I'm gonna suggest that you check out the Lallemand yeast chart, mainly because of the amount of data that's available for them.

Then, as some of the yeasts are only available in commercial quantities, you check out morewine in the US - with a view to mail order. Mainly because if you check out the "Lalvin" range, they also repackage into homebrew sized packs, some of the commercial ones.

A quick look at the yeast chart, shows K1V-1116 (which apparently will ferment up to 35 C), which is one that is available in home brew packs (one of the 5 or so "usual suspects"), though often it's not so easy to find the lalvin range here "off the shelf" - some HBS keep them, a lot of them not. I have to get mine mail order. You won't find a bigger range than that at morewine as the repackaging thing seems to be at the request of a lot of home brewers in the US market.

Dunno if that helps any

p.s. Oh and they also seem to stock the Lalvin yeast nutrient range as well, which is also handy as so much of the ideas/suggestions/guidance seems to revolve around them (presumably again, because of the data made available for the more anal home brewers.....)
