Just buy some AJ and a random carton of another fruit juice and see what happens.

Re: Ive got 2 free DJ's and im off to asda tonight!
yes, i like that idea!
What i was also thinking was experimenting with powdered spices. I have some apple juice brewing now and i added 1 spoon of ground cinnamon. I dont know how strong that will be, but i think itll be nice.
Might try this again but put some honey in it and see what difference it makes...

You could also try a carton of Peach Nectar. I made some TC a few weeks back using cartons of AJ and one of PN. What a nice result it was. It came out at about 8.7%, but I did bulk it up with honey instead of sugar.
Currently Drinking: Marris Otter with home roasted porridge oats, shredded wheat, crystal and black malt, EKG hops and Nottingham yeast. Smooth, dark, and rich - put some aside for Xmas.
Currently Drinking: Bohemian Pilsner with porridge oats, shredded wheat and basmati rice, along with Saaz hops, mandarin zest, coriander, cardamon pods and Munich yeast. Silky on the mouth with a wonderful summer taste. Love this brew!

I think experimentation is the key to a happy brew.

doesn't sound like a winner to me i'm afraid. i reckon it will be thin, sweet watery and not at all pleasant. i hope for your sake i'm wrong!
imo you should have used something either fruity or malty as a base. just throwing fermentables at some water isn't a particularly good idea. it will be alcoholic tho and by finding something to mix it with may make it just about drinkable

i was reading the thread on the treacle beers, and that was about the first one that was listed, so i was hoping that would work. Is there anything i can add to it to make it better then?
Re: Ive got 2 free DJ's and im off to asda tonight!
right, just read a bit deeper into the thtread..
so what should i do with it, is there anything i can add to it?

Any idiots guides to TC?
I will make some for some friends as I have 2 DJ's spare, they like apple cider but im tempted to feck with them, I like blueberry and pomegranite so might throw some of that in.
Do you need yeast, or is it just fruit juice and bung and airlock and hope for wild yeast?!

I have not had many finished ciders yet, and defonatly not ones that have been left for a while either.
But what i have done is apple juice, yeast, pectalose powder, and left to brew.
Then when it stopps bubbling adding a campsten tablet.
I dont knwo for sure if its the right way to do it but it tastes ok, needs leaving i think for a while rather than drinking straight away...
People add tea, i dont know exactly why, but i need to read more.
Poeple do teh turbo ciders with honey to add more sugar and a different taste i think, and these are done in a short period of time. Having said that, i have one going in a DJ and its still bubbling after 5 days.
Dont really know what im doing but im just experimenting.
