unplanned TC

I made a 1L starter of WLP051 the other day for a brew day. The split I made the starter from was quite old so it took a bit longer than I thought to get going. Long story short, I ended up using US-05 for the brew day and have been left with a 1L starter of WLP051. Usually no problem, means another brew day, but! I'm so busy with work at the moment I don't think I can fit one in!

So went down to morrisons this AM and got 3L of apple juice and a jar of honey (465g).

In a demi john went

3L apple juice
465g honey
1L of malt extract (wlp051 starter @ 1.040)
1/2 tsp tannin powder
1 tsp nutrient

It was bubbling away within 3 hours!

Aye! lol. I thought it was a waste throwing out a good starter, and I've been meaning to get a TC on for ages!
