Extract Brew Ginger Beer

Post by Mike '77 » Fri Jan 14, 2011 8:20 pm

So i want to improve the Gingerbeer brew..............

I plan on making it with the extract style of brewing - i need to knock a boiler and chiller up. What specialty grain should i use and for what reason, what sort of malt extract to use?

i plan on replacing the hops with ginger and a cinnamon stick - not going to use lemon.

any thought or has anyone done similar?

help is much appreciated - looking to get a cleaner more crisp brew.....

good find - its £39.99 according to the website, but still a good deal as a variac and heater element would cost nearly that. 27l too and apparently leyleand who make the jam maker do a hop strain for the tap!

found what looks like a fair few decent recipes......

i did a bit of research on hops and found some that should put a but of citric flavour so should be good as a finishing hop.
