TC or bust!

Well, I'm having one final crack at making some booze (that isn't a beer kit) for SWMBO, and if this one doesn't work, I'm just going to stick to beer lol

This one is a gallon of Morrisons value apple juice, the juice and zezt of two lemons, teaspoon of Young's Yeast Neutrient and a packet of Cider Yeast (from HB shop)

I started it on Saturday afternoon (SG 1.052), by Saturday evening, it was slowly bubbling in the airlock, and by Sunday morning it was bubbling away like noone's business (and still is)

Gonna see what it tastes like when it gets down to 1.010, then take it from there

Sounds great, I am working my way slowly through a gallon of tc made with Tesco pure apple juice and Youngs high alcohol yeast. It is great stuff, a nice country cider with a kick.
Good luck with it, I may try the citrus twist myself.

I reckon thats quiet a lot of lemon, I've never used anything like that quantity in a TC.

Yeah.....I'd say it's about 200% of what I needed lol

Tried it last night and it's VERY lemony....but not in a great way (despite me liking lemon a lot)

I put it in 6x 500ml PET bottles and 1x 1ltr PET bottle with half a teaspoon of demarera sugar in each and 1tsp in the 1ltr bottle

been in the warm to carbonate since Tuesday evening and the bottles aren't as hard as I'd have liked them....I was going to crack them open and put more sugar in

What do people think? am I being to impaitent?

Yeah, paitence grasshopper!
My advise on this one is to hide it for a good few months, 6 or more and I'm betting the lemon will mellow enough to make it drinkable!
Not exactly in the spirit of TC I know but get on another bach and learn from this one
