Kings Brew Beer Powder

Post by 6470zzy » Sat Mar 05, 2011 8:14 pm

Anyone familiar with this mix for Sorghum Beer? I believe that it is South African in origin and naturally not available to me here in the States #-o I would love to hear from someone that has tried it though.

Cheers

Edit............................... I just found out that apparently the correct name for this stuff is "King Korn Mtombo Mmela"

Now I just need to get a pack of it to try out [-o<

I had the original made by a group in a mud hut in Lesotho, just after a vist to the highest pub in Africa.

To be honest it was grim, really sour but sweet, full of starch and looked like milk. Interesting from a culture point of view but don't make more than a mouthful because I dont seriously think you could drink a full pint of the stuff.

Sounds like it's definitely an acquired taste then  I shall have to take your opinion to heart because I shan't be in Lesotho anytime soon......then again I think a touch of warm weather might do me good :D

Cheers
