VIMTO II

Started a new one today not tried yet recipie is as follows...

750 Ml Vimto cordial Boiled/Simmered for 15 mins
3.5 Litres cooled boiled water
1 Tsp Rehydrated Nutriated Active ( bubbling ) Youngs super wine yeasties
1 Tsp DAP
450g white sugar


Starting gravity of 1.050 and praying its not mega active coz its right at the 5Litre mark [-o<
will be cleared and bottle primed :roll:

I searched high and low for what DS was! it was an honest mistake sorry for pointing it out,

Dap = Yeast nutirent

I wouldnt have thought something with so much sugar would need nutirent or is it to make them yeasts preform faster!?
I like your idea of watering down the vimto, my first one i did with 2L Vimto and 2L apple juice and it was reeeal bad! That bubbled like Fff.... but you should be ok *crosses his fingers for u*

I threw some DAP in as ive read elswhere that vimto has shedloadsa preservatives, so to give the youngs a fighting chance in it went.

its going nice and strong now, no crazy foamage as of yet, ive left a quarter litre space to add some more vimto or something else dunno what yet am thinking tho some sort of cherry concentrate, maybe some apple juice.

now this vimto stuff ferments wayy faster than the melina project.. already down to 1.010 from 1.050 an that was 5 days ago, topped up the quarter litre with aplle juice from lidle. need to bre something of a different color all my brews so far have been berry colored lol

Well... another success i recon, its was racked off from the lees, to clear a bit, bottle primed with 3/4 tsp sugar per 45 Cl flippy top bottle, not brilliantly clear in bottles but i know it does clear perfectly as the tester before bottling was perfect, tastes just like vimto cider lol pretty good. bottled at fg 1.002 from 1.050
