i was thinking about making something warming for the Christmas family get together. I am sick of mulled wine so thought I would try some amateur mulled cider.
Simply nipping over to Morrisons buying 10l of apple juice a bit of dark sugar some oranges and a packed of mulling spice (pre-made teabag type thing)
not sure whether I should boil the sugar and orange rind and add the spices then turn off heat and when cooled add to apple juice and sprinkle over with yeast.
I see some places say add spices to secondary like dry hopping. Any reciepes of thoughts anyone?

Re: mulled cider
Mulled Cider is great, we drink it every year (my grandmothers German, they all do it where shes from), I don't really like mulled wine in comparison. Though we always just brew/buy straight cider, then mull it, it would certainly be simpler for you, unless that is if your wanting like a spiced cider to drink cold..
A new discovery for me is the mead i made a year ago, tastes unbelievable hot with a couple of spices, its all I can do to save a few bottles to share with the family this christmas!
