First Wine Question

I saw some wine kits in Wilko and thought I might do one for Christmas.

I was just wondering... why do people brew (er, is there a different word?) wine in glass? And could I just do it in my usual plastic fermentation bucket instead?

Yep you can do it in a plastic FV

Standard plassy fermentation bucket is fine, loads fo people use them.
I like glass coz I can see when the wine's finally clear more easily, demijohns just look cooler, and my buckets are usually full of sanitising fluid with bits of gear in it.
