Hey all
Not sure what sub to post this is in so i will try here,
I am in the process of applying for a compound licence, why?.. to age spirits in whisky barrells.
Has anyone here delt with such a thing?
I am aware hmrc like to visit you once you file for excice, up to a year i am told.. however im almost sure the garage i have at the moment isn't up to spec.
What cosistutes a safe and clean space to do such a thing. Bear in mind i am not distilling, just taking something and changing the flavour (compounding).
Thanks in advance for any help with this.

Re: compounders licence
Are you doing this commercially or for yourself?
Re: compounders licence

For commercial use.
to the tune of a few barrels
I just cant seem to find any info on this at all. I will give the tax office a call in the morning.

Re: compounders licence
Have you read HRMC Excise Notice 39?
It tells you most,if not all,you need to know re. Rectifying/Compounding Licenses.
