I have found this to be a good resource to understand some of the basics and also has a lot of good links directing away from Wikipedia.

There is a good coverage of beer styles, breweries and types of production.

Recommended to fellow brewing beginners. :D

Yeah, Some good stuff there, Excellent resource for Yeast culturing for those interested. (I've skimmed the rest of the site, and its practical and accurate).

SORRY Guys wrong website, :oops: the Brewiki site I was talking about is somewhat different.

Dan's Link seems to be quite new, and has a lot of basic information, plus some links to more interesting sites
