Bottling from keg

Post by Whorst » Thu May 08, 2008 3:50 pm

With beer fully carbonated, has anyone ever bottled directly from the keg? I'm not too excited about having to buy a counter pressure bottle filler, largely because I don't bottle anything. I need to bottle some beers for competition, and I thought with the gas turned way down it would be possible to fill and cap. Thoughts?

Cheers,

I've done it, and Daab does it as well. Basically chill the beer and bottles as much as possible (Once carbonated), then attach a length (5m) of 3/16 beer line to the tap, run the beer through the line into the bottle. . . Cap . . . Repeat, with the gas turned down low and the resistance of the line you get minimal foaming.
