Hop leaf versus hop pellet

Post by jacksbrewery » Tue Apr 28, 2009 8:38 pm

I am planning on doing an all grain brew shortly. I have recipes that specify the amount of leaf hops to use but have access to a supply of hop pellets (free!) so plan to use these instead. Is there a way of working out what weight of pellet to use instead of the specified weight of leaf hop?

as long as the Alpha Acid is the same simply use the same weight in pellets as you would with flowers, but subtract 10% as you get better utilisation with pellets
