Hmm, thanks Chris - that might just explain some of my discrepancies with calculated gravities vs. actual gravities in worts. I'm using Beer Smith and also a spreadsheet to track & calculate manually. Might just download Graham's engine now to see how recipes work out using UK calculations. I've just tinkered with my spreadsheet and it now looks like I can increase my efficiency estimations based on previous results but using the new calculations for max yield. I'm now wondering if I need to change the yield values for grains in Beer Smith to UK ones in order to correct it.....
