Well in Benson. Seem to remember your Dad being sceptical about All Grain? You can remind him about that when he's sipping his first pint of matured Speckled Hen clone....!
Planning - Not for a long while
Fermenting - I'm Done
Bottle Maturing - Hobgoblin, Fullers ESB, American Stout, TOP, Fullers London Porter, Bandini Black IPA
Drinking - Still...Whiskey

Aye, he's given in, finally!arturobandini wrote:Well in Benson. Seem to remember your Dad being sceptical about All Grain? You can remind him about that when he's sipping his first pint of matured Speckled Hen clone....!
Unfortunately i can't share with him my Speckled Hen as he isn't a fan of it.

I will sure as hell give him a pint of the others though.

Thanks DK. Just having to look at all that grain and the boiler though, torture, but with no mash tun...what can you do eh.
Re: I'm tempted to do AG
Nice one benson.
Just kitted myself out with home-made equipment, and it cost me about £90 all in for MT, HLT/boiler and immersion chiller.
I'm doing 5 gal brews with it, but easy enough to upscale to 10G if need be.
your dad will be impressed.
if he's any kind of beer fan, and if he's liked your kits, the AG brews should be a notch up.
Getting my second brew ready for tomorrow!
Good luck mate!

Cheers mate! Hopefully he'll love it, he is an ale drinker, does his own kits too, so hopefully this'll blow him away. He was surprised at the speed the water got up to temp in my boiler today (did a water test) compared to his stockpot on the stove.
Good luck with the brew.
Good luck with the brew.
Re: I'm tempted to do AG
Sounds like a go-er Benson. If only I thought of that when I was your age. Instead, all I cared about was being served at the off-licence

Re: I'm tempted to do AG
Well i am being served at a couple, but i prefer to brew good ale

Good man, we need more like you!Benson_JV wrote:Well i am being served at a couple, but i prefer to brew good ale
Based on your pics on the other thread, you easily look in your early 20's

Re: I'm tempted to do AG
Heh, cheers!
I'm slowly converting some of my friends to good ale, I've got a couple roped in.
