Sounds really good Andy. Yes, a big problem cooling now, I'm near the east coast and we tend to get a cool breeze at tea time on warm days which can be handy for late start brews but nothing else. We've been down to the Yorkshire Moors today where it was very warm but the car thermometer read 13 when we got back.
Fine on keeping to the same routine, that makes a lot of sense when I think about it. It would be wonderful to draw the line here and see your latest brew in its own right on Brew-days.
Cheers.

Re: High FG readings
Without patience, life becomes difficult and the sooner it's finished, the better.

[quote="andysmok"]I usualy connect my paddle to my power drill and give it a good 5 minutes or untill the foam reaches the top of the FV.
I have been watching my brew which has been in the FV for 7 days and seams to have stopped fermenting. This one is the worst i have done yet. There is only 19 litres of wort at a OG of 1051 which sould of been 23 litres at 1046, It now looks to have stuck at 1026 which is probably going to be to sweet to enjoy. IT was mashed at 66 C for 90 minutes and then batch sparged by pouring water in which was about 80 C (2 batches). I dropped the wort from a slight height through a seive and then blasted with my power drill. Then i got my packet of S04 which i had just bought from barley bottom and was at room temperature and sprinkled it on the top of the foam. I was then left to ferment at 20C wich was constant. The airlock started to bubble 24 hours later and stopped bubbling 3 days after that.
Did you forget to write about the BOIL stage?
or did I forget to read it.

Re: High FG readings
The boil was irrelevant to my problem but don't worry this brew did get a 90 minute boil!
Well 5 days later and my batch has dropped down to 1009
That is the lowest I've ever managed to get which proves all this time my fermentation problems have just been down to a stupid £5 thermometer! I think I am going to invest in a good quality one if anyone has a suggestion on what type and where to buy?
Anyone with high FG problems or stuck fermentation's I'd advise them to check there thermometers first!
