How's the honey ale Trucker? What amount of honey did you go for?

I made some a week last sat and have bottled tonight. It is clear as day.
It was down to 1020 from a high OG, but still tasted very sweet (yeah, I know it has a way to go and has honey in it!).

I thought I'd take a bit of a gamble and bottle at that gravity, rather than wait and prime. As I've been a bit brew crazy of the last couple of months, it's going to be at least 2 months in the bottle before I get around to trying it.

They honey ale is reaching the end of fermentation over the next 48 hours. It is a split wort between honey and strawberry, so about 11 litres each. I went for one jar of honey (454g). First taste will be at bottling, then again in 2 to 6 weeks...........watch this space!

Split wort...now there's an idea.

I like doing small experimental batches on an "I wonder what it will be like" basis, I used a jar 425g in a 13L batch.

LOL on second thoughts I will no doubt end up trying the bottled honey in 2 or 3 weeks....who am I trying to kid :^o

My experiments have generally had decent results. I haven't had anything undrinkable yet. They've ranged from OK to very good.
