I havent managed to buy some wheat that I wanted use in a Deuchars IPA so Ive opted for the SL instead.

Can I get away with some flaked barley in the SL for some head retention? And if so how much??

So far the only malt in it is 4990g MO Pale Ale Malt, do i substitute some of the pale for barley or not???

Not sure of its head forming/retention properties (high nitrogen release is the key) but doesnt it throw off a bit too much haze for a pale beer such as SL? More for the darker brews, Porters, Stouts etc.

I think it's worthwhile getting the right ingredients even if it means you delay brewing for a few days.
Best wishes
