Overprimed

Post by Walrus81 » Sat Dec 19, 2009 5:35 pm

As the title states.

Choccy stout, primed with a small amount of sugar, just popped a bottle and same carbonation as fizz!
It's been in a shed for the past month as well!

Anyway to sort this out, as I have 20+ bottles like this.

Maybe uncapp all of them then re cap?

This sounds more like an incomplete fermentation rather than over-priming. :-k

Fermentation seemed to complete. i.e low fonal gravitiy.

However, I think that it may have been the chocolate that I added to the boil that has caused this over prime.

You could always Just thrash your glass with a fork to de-fizz it, a bit like taking the fizz out of a lemonade before making a shandy :)
