I will be bottling an IPA that will have around 4-5 months conditioning this weekend.
Usually i prim with 3 grams sugar pr 500 ml in bottles and around 2 grams sugar pr small 330 ml bottle.
I was wondering if i could add spray malt instead?
I was thinking of either adding the same weight to the bottles as with sugar or making up a solution of say 6 grams pr liter into a small amout of water then adding weither 2 or 3 ml pr bottle.
Does this sound right and what would be best.,
i don't want the ypical spray malt tang and wonder if this small amount would have the effect. My thought is that in solution this would mix easier than in dry form.
can anyone hep please?
thanks

Re: sugar or spray malt
As far as I'm aware, spray malt doesn't suffer from extract twang. LME is probably a different story.
I'd use the household sugar to bottle with - it contains 100% fermentables, unlike spray malt, and the small amounts will mean you don't experience any homebrew twang with this stuff either.
Folk will generally tip the sugar into the bottom of the bottle (teaspoonful = 5 grams roughly) - you could dilute it in hot water if you wanted to, but it's just extra effort.

Re: sugar or spray malt
I used spray malt once and found it made my beer much fizzier, to the point it was difficult to pour. Didn't notice any improvement taste wise. If I did it again I would use half the amount - 40g to prime a 5 gallon batch. But I probably wouldn't.
