gentlemen please.

this was a rather informative thread for a newbie like me. thats whay i asked the question and i appreciate the comments.

please a take a step away from the keyboard and cool it a little. mutual handshakes and the friendliness of this forum is what has made it stand apart from the other bitching forums i have signed onto in the past that i no longer even consider visiting.

lets make this one a good place to be please.

Who'd have thought yeast could cause so much trouble!
If I had all the money I'd spent on brewing... I'd spend it on brewing!

I don't think steve comes across as patronising....

Also I happen to know that US/UK-05 is actually from an ancient strain from Uzbekistan/Kazakhstan so technically we should all call it Uz/Kz-05.

But that seems a bit long winded so the manufacturers name eh?

Apparently the first cultures were cultured from a Yak's scrotum. This imbues US-05 with magical properties and gives the ability to talk bollocks to those who endlessly argue over its origin ;)
Best wishes

I've never argued its origin, but I did come up with UK-05. Apparently the insinuation that this yeast has its origins in the UK angers some people. Lets all hope Flack comes to his senses.

The lovely female that makes up my avatar goes hand in hand with the virtues of UK-05. I'd like to think that when people see my jugs of glory
insignia(avatar), they will understand the struggle I've endured to promote my feelings for UK-05, the clean and robust top cropper!! Flack won't be the last. Others will come in protest of the dry yeast I love. Slagging off its inability to drop bright in a timely manner, or calling it Nottingham's wicked step child, or other profound nonsense. UK-05 will always be my beautiful, clean, buxom, blond. Nottingham is the flat chested, chav female of the brewing arts. UK-05, the true royalty of dry yeast!

The yeast is made by Fermentis and is sold as US-05. That is it's name, given to it by it's makers and the name it is referred to in this country.

I hope that the forum has not lost Steve Flack as a result of a puerile wind-up post.

I don't think he comes across as patronising, probably more as someone who doesn't suffer fools gladly.

Stonie, why don't you read the exchange. I didn't come after him, he came after me with a big, "I know what I'm talking about and you don't" attitude. Anyone so feeble that they can't handle a little humor on the internet shouldn't be posting.

I've said it before, I'll say it again! UK-05(Safale-05) WAS NOT CREATED IN A CALIFORNIA LAB!! It's origins are from the old Ballantine Brewery on the East Coast. It is reported that Ballatine got it from England in the 1950's. So what is the problem with me having some fun and labeling it UK-05???? Just like Jehovah, Jehovah, Jehovah!!! UK-05!! , UK-05!!, UK-05!!!!

I've read the exchange, thank you very much.

If you want to remain the arrogant internet bully, well bully for you. Carry on with your feeble puerile humour.

Not that that it will get through your thick skin, but I think Steve knows more about the craft of brewing than your chronicling the art will ever get round to.
