I did my first AG brew today and did everything as I should but I did 2 things I now think I shouldn't have done
1 - I forgot to add the protofloc with 15 minutes of the boil remaining
2 - I added 4 litres of water to bring the fermenting liqour to 21l
Will doing either of these make much difference
Forgot Protofloc
Re: Forgot Protofloc
Haven't we all!
1) The worst that will happen is that your beer might have a haze, it should not affect the taste.
2) Some breweries do this, brew a stronger smaller batch then water it down.
No problems - welcome to AG!

No protofloc? No worries. At least now you'll have a 'negative control' for when you do a brew and do add it in - you'll appreciate the change/difference it makes when it comes to cold break/trub formation
Diluting down? No worries. A lot depends on your recipe and the post boil gravity. If you over boiled and you're adding liqour back in to hit your recipe targets then fine. Worst case is you'll have a slightly thinner/lighter (colour and final ABV) beer.
Have a look at the excellent brewmate application. It's free and has a good dilution calculation tool
