I had my first attempt at a lager today:
40L pre mash volume (BIAB)
6.5 kg lager malt
0.5 kg munich
Left with 36L of 1.060 pre boil
30g Saaz 90 min
30g Saaz 60 min
20g Saaz 80 min
20g Saaz post boil
Diluted the post boil wort - a bit too much - down to 1.046
Then pitched with 20g hydrated Saflager.
I totally forgot to put any clearing agent in - I only have Irish moss at the moment.
Will it still clear with a long lagering? Or is there anything else I can do?
Another question about fermentation temps:
My only options to get it near to what it should be are a porch at 12C or the garage at about 2C. It's in the porch at the moment as I'm guessing 2C is a bit too cold to start the fermentation?
forgot the moss!

Re: forgot the moss!
Forgotten I moss several times myself, beer has always cleared but always made sure I used other finnings later.
Re: forgot the moss!
I did exactly the same in my first AG brew. Didn't look like it was clearing in the carboy either - but worry not - it's now bottled and crystal clear.
Somewhere on this site I downloaded a brewday schedule which after a little tweaking for my way of working has proved very useful. This helps avoid mistakes/ omissions.

Re: forgot the moss!
did you use any keg finings?
Thanks for the brew log - just need to alter it for BIAB...

Re: forgot the moss!
Yes, I used Beerclear. I think It said on the packet to use it 12 hours before bottling which I did. Next day the beer (which was in a carboy) still looked as if it had a haze on it. I bottled anyhow and, as I said, it's now crystal clear.
The haze might have been a chill haze as it was in an unheated garage - at a guess 1 - 2 degrees C but not below 0 degrees.
Hope this is of some help.
