Hello lads,
I have used bruheat buckets for 25 years, The effort to brew 23 litre brews in a 25 litre bucket you all know is very tricky. So I mash and bring the wort to boiling and switch from a direct ( no thermostat lead ) to the bruheat thermostat which cuts in and out this gives a boil of a kind but not as we see in brewery films. I cannot leave the direct lead on as it will constantly boil over. The breaks seem to be fine but I would not call it a rolling boil. What do you all think of this? I average between 21 and 23 litres without topping up. Am I getting the best from my hop flavours i boil for 90 mins. To me the hop flavours seem harsh and not mellow is there a boil reason for this? please any ideas will be great. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL.
