Dry hopping and syphoning

Post by gnutz2 » Wed Mar 30, 2011 8:28 pm

Ok, just pitched the starter in my 23l IPA last night and the recipe has 2 50g dry hop additions at 1 and 5 days.

I was going to put them in a muslin bag but all i had was a pair of my girlfriends tights so i sanitized everything and bunged them in, anyway this turned out to be a cr@p idea so i took them out the tights and put them in loose.

Now i'm just wondering whats the best way to get the wort off the yeast and floating hops.

Syphoning looks like the only way but surely it will block up.

Cheers Baz.

Just seen this, looks like i'll need a muslin bag to go over my syphon tube.
