herms rim

Post by newtonsshed » Fri Nov 25, 2011 2:43 pm

Hi.

I'm looking for a simple brewery set up I have 3 kegs converted for HLT, Mash & boiler. The hlt & boiler are on pronpane. I was orginally thinking of just putting a kettle element in the mash with an stc1000 controller/sensor as I brew outside in a shelter so worried about temp dropping on the mash. Other then the slight risk of hot spots/burnt grain in the tun, what are the advantage of HERMS RIM am I right in saying clearer wort? Has anyone got any plans I can follow for an easy set up?
Thanks
Andy
