AG Brewer in North Cheshire

Post by fatbelly » Tue Jan 03, 2012 10:45 am

Hi
I am currently a Kit Brewer and this year I want to move over to AG. What extra Equipment would I need in addition to what I already have (FV, Hydrometer, Glass Bottles, Syphon etc etc)

Where do you Guys get your recipes from? Is there an AG brewers recipe Bible or something. I have been drinking Castle Rock Harvest Ale and think it is delicious and would love to do a clone of this.

Also are there any AG Brewers in north Cheshire on here that I could visit to give me a Master Class on what to do.

A lot of questions I know. Thanks in advance for any replies.

a boiler some people use plastic , tea urns or make shiney ones choice is yours
a mash tun insulated cool box will do with a means to drain it, manifold out of copper pipe is popular, or a false bottom
and finally another boiling vessel maybe even the same one as the first one,

i use currently a baby burco boiler and a coolbox with a copper manifold

BTW welcome to the forum more ideas will be along shortly im sure

I'd also love a recipe for Castle Rock Harvest Pale, a superb pint.

Given the breweries just down the road from me perhaps I should pay them a visit and nick some yeast!
