Clear beer

Hi

I'm fairly new to AG brewing having completed half a dozen or so brews with various levels of success. When condiitioning the first few brews I elected not to prime them and the result was good bright beer within a week; the only issue being that these beers were not gassy enought to be drawn from a top tap keg so I bottled them.

I recently brewed a Cotleigh Tawny ale (from GW's book) and decided to prime in order to promote more gas; this has of course had the desired effect and the beer is drinkable but not as bright as the beers that weren't primed. I havent yet resorted to finings having had a bad experience with Harris Beer brite in the past although I do have some Isinglass in the fridge which I will try on my next batch, due to be kegged today.

Im not sure whetehr there is a link between priming and clearing but any tips on how to achieve a clear, primed beer would be greaty appreciated.

Could be several things, not adding finings won't help, but I know many other members don't prime but just leave the beer much longer to condition out. How long are you leaving before sampling?
Have you used different yeasts? Some take longer to drop out than others.
If you're not keen on Beer brite try Protofloc tablets they work very well in the boil. Also try not to disturb the trub after the boil as this can affect clarity.
Just look at your methods each time and see if you may have done anything slightly different, remember darker beers will clear better than pale.

if you prime you will always get a cloudy start cus you are rebooting the yeast thats in suspention,try priming one bottle and not another the next day you,ll see the differance in the two. you are probobly drinking your brew to quickly,before its settled out

patience is the only answer. if left for 6-8 weeks or longer in the cold after a week or so in the warm beer in a pressure barrel should be clear, perhaps a little longer if primed in bottles.
ist update for months n months..
Fermnting: not a lot..
Conditioning: nowt
Maturing: Challenger smash, and a kit lager
Drinking: dry one minikeg left in the store
Coming Soon Lots planned for the near future nowt for the immediate :(
