need help.!!!

hello all. after alot of thinking and working myself up over blood test results i am going to make my beer after all. but i have a major problem. i was weighing out my grains. 8kg pale, 445g caragold, 445g crystal for 40 litres of beer....... the only thing is a measured out my caragold, crystal, and started weighing out the pale and someone knocked on the door after a good half hour talk i come in and cant remember how much i weighed out. ahh fack in hell. my scales wont weigh any more than 5kg and with putting whatever grain i had in the bucket onto the scales they broke saying error and it wont turn off. even more ahhhh feck. the bucket the grains are in is actually marked up at 1 litre intervals and is sitting between 17-18 litres. so does anyone know how many litres 8.89kilos of grain would look like in the bucket. i dont want to make weak over bitter beer or a strong beer thats going to be undrinkable!!!

A tad over 20 is my bet. My 10 litre bucket takes about 4250g.

Wotcha mate, you know how it goes sometimes you have loads of hassle on a brewday think you've stuffed it and it turns out a belter 8) fingers crossed anyway .
Good luck with the other stuff too, I agree with Crispy they probably would have hooked you in sharpish if it was a biggy.
PS now I know where you found out about Q max cutters

cheers all. water all prepared with crs and brewing salts. lets go. i am going with the constant 90min hopping.... i know a few disagree but i understand it makes a nice beer with a complex bitterness and flavour profile. my take pics might not. i got a busy day tommorow. missus needs taking and picking up from town, would of said piss off but she is 33 weeks pregnant. the little un's off school, relatives are coming and the missuse wants to goto her dads. might be up at six but after driving 200 mile today i am a bit fooked. who said days off work were for rest pfffffft never not for me
