Guys.
Just wanted to ask a quick question regarding my boil.
Having read over a number of over topics, it seems most of you use a whirlpool action at the end of the boil.
My boil "kettle" is a simple 20l stock pot (I only fill to about 15 so I can get a great boil on) no holes or other parts and is used on my gas hob. (I will upgrade in the future) I cool the pot in the kitchen sink in about 10 mins. I then syphon into the fermenter via a large sieve.
Should I be looking at getting a whirlpool going to aid the process?

Re: The Boil
Whirlpooling helps speed up cooling and gathers together the trub in the centre of the boiler so you can avoid syphoning it up.
If neither of these things are an issue, then no need to whirlpool.

Great, many thanks. In the future I do hope it is an issue, but only because I have hundreds of litres to brew

Re: The Boil
I have successfully whirlpooled in the past to avoid getting my hop stopper stuck - it didn't work tonight - yet again.
At least I remembered the hops!!!
