Hop Varieties
Hop Varieties
Hi,
I'm planning on trying to create my own recipes, but I'm getting stuck with the large varieties of hops.
Does anyone know of any list anywhere which details the hop varieties, whether there are better suited to bittering or aroma (or can do both)? And also detail the type of aroma you could expect from each? or beer styles they are better suited for?
Any advice in this area would be greatly appreciated!

Nice resource that gnutz. I was just looking at the list of new UK hedge varieties and can't believe the names they have been given - Hillary, Irene, Joan...gnutz2 wrote:This may helphttp://www.murphyandson.co.uk/murphyand ... specs.html

Re: Hop Varieties
Lots of good resources so far.
I have several standalone PDFs from US hops growers that I could attach to a personal email.
If you're interested, send me a private message with your personal email address.
Otherwise, I find the basic Wikipedia page pretty informative, frequently updated (keep in mind alpha acid percentages and other stats can swing pretty widely from year to year), and less biased to a particular grower:
