all in jest, m8

Levels of the compound in solution wont be high enough to make your kidneys raise an eyebrow - its all about concentration as your research has shown (good comparison would be between vinegar and Glacial Acetic Acid, the pure form - just the smell of that stuff will strip the roof off your nose !)

In proper use, it just isnt concentrated enough to cause trouble to a multi-celled organism like us; we've evolved to deal with it. Just bad news if you happen to be a uni-celled yeast or bacterium :)

Yeah it sounds like good stuff. I think I just a felt a bit paranoid about it despite having already purchased some. In that podcast Charlie from Five-Star said seemed to suggest you could have a corny half Starsan and half beer and you could drink it. Don't fancy it though.

I also remember hearing the story about the guy who used to drink DDT to show it wasn't harmful.  Apparently it wasn't - well not to him anyway.

Although you leave starsan behind, mostly as a foam, it will act as a yeast nutrient in the FV.

Interestingly DDT isnt so harmful if injested.

Its the effects it has on the developing foetus that led to its decline in useage. It seems to have an annoying habit of hanging around in the eco system and contaminating every lving thing it comes into contact with.

Its the culmantive effects of exposure that re problematic.

Also with Star san and similar no rinse agent you are already exposed to them... How do you think the local dairy cleans its tanks & lines?

OMG, so Starsan is already joining the DDT, lead, PCBs, mercury, asbestos and other assorted pesticides, preservatives and plasticisers in my body. I'm doomed!

Looks like drinking a bit of alcohol is the least of my problems. :D
